I’ve haven’t posted anything in a while so here’s a few iPhone pics…

I drive by these structures about twice a week and have always meant to park somewhere downtown and get a closer look at them. My car was at the Mechanic’s for most of the morning so I thought I would finally make some time and take a closer look at them. These smaller-than-life works of art by Ken Lum are replicas of the huts that were built on Maplewood mudflats in North Vancouver in the later half of the 20th Century. These are incredible structures and they are in place until September 6th, 2010 at the Shangri-la (Georgia and Thurlow).

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, let alone taken, any iPhone pictures. I’ve gotten so busy lately working, planning our wedding, and moving that the creative / sharing side my life gets put aside. When we finally slow down from our busy schedules we realize how important the ‘create / share / sustain’ concept really is. So I will try to make more time between assignments to keep the tradition alive.

I brought my camera with me while searching for books on Architecture at the Koerner Library at UBC. The Sun was setting and the back of the Library caught my attention; incredible building.
I’ve been working at the Sliding Centre in Whistler for the Winter Olympics. Last night were heats 1 and 2 of the Women’s Bobsleigh. These sleds were reaching speeds of 146.9 km/hour! (91.2 mph). Here’s some pictures I made…

Nick and Ashley are getting married this Spring so we thought we should make some Engagement photos! We went to Granville Island, here in Vancouver, and had a great time exploring and finding interesting places for a backdrop. Thanks to Nicole for helping out and for making sure we paid for parking!

Nicole and I went to catch the light show called Vectorial Elevation near downtown Vancouver tonight. Here are some pictures we took…

The Sun came out today! It has been raining for a while here in Vancouver – so I’m posting a picture I made today while I was at Granville Island. Enjoy.

I’ve added a gallery for the pictures I take with my iPhone (Gallery).
At the beginning of 2009 I starting posting pictures from my iPhone on Facebook and Twitter. I got the idea from a Seattle photographer named Chase Jarvis who has subsequently published a book with his iPhone pictures. It’s not the highest resolution, or the fastest camera I have - but I always have it with me and therefore able to make photographs when I’m not a position to bring a ‘real’ camera along. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Welcome to my blog! I’ve replaced my website with a Blog so I can post pictures on a regular basis. Please visit the Galleries – I’ll put up more galleries soon.
Cheers,
Richard
